Understanding, Advent thinks, is the first step to many paths.
Have you ever seen something that wasn't quite right? Seeing patterns and figures in the shadows, when others tell you that you're just seeing things? You may be onto something, however, you just need to unlock your third eye first of all.
Pareidolia is, as the doctors say, the condition where you see meaning in which none exists. Ask yourself this. Why do you see that face in the sand? Why do you hear hidden words in sing-songs even though they shouldn’t mean anything at all? There must be something to it, Advent thinks.
A common thought about it, Advent thinks, is that you have seen it before and your brain is simply trying to connect the dots together, to replicate something that you, perhaps, do not realize. The old memory rises above the surface of your subconsciousness, yet you yourself are not conscious of it. Allow Advent to provide an example.
Ever dream this man? Surely you must have seen this face once or twice within your dreams. They may even look familiar to you right now as we speak. But you don’t ‘recognize’ or ‘recall’ them in the slightest. It may feel strange to you, but you have most likely seen such a face before in your life. Perhaps a passing bystander that you happened to notice and forget, or maybe not. But you see the pattern.
People come to Advent and tell her about their dreams, and Advent sees the patterns the more they tell her. There are a few recurring patterns in everyone’s dreams, Advent thinks, but no one but her notices too well. However, Advent can teach you how to see the patterns as well.
Let us start with a training exercise. Advent happens to find this specific pattern as a recurring element in people’s dreams. Have you dreamt this before? If so, please forward this to Advent at sovadvent@gmail.com.
